A message about counseling:

I know from personal and professional experience that it’s possible to live a life of joy and optimism. Within each of us are deep wells of untapped potential. No matter what our mistakes, no matter what our struggles, no matter how our past may have shaped us, each of us has the free will to rise above all obstacles and transform ourselves. Each of us has the ability to form relationships that bring us comfort and satisfaction. Each of us has a contribution to make through our work and through our creative endeavors.

My counseling focuses on helping clients make thoughtful and conscious decisions. I challenge clients to move away from restrictive thinking and move toward behaviors that promote enthusiasm and good feelings. Clients take an active role in the therapeutic process. Together we evaluate an on-going basis how the therapeutic process is going. Together my client and I form a partnership to discover what life can be.

It’s a courageous step to engage in the process of counseling, and well worth it! As Thomas Merton points out: “What can we gain by sailing to the moon if we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves. This is the most important of all voyages of discovery, and without it, all the rest are not only useless, but disastrous.”

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to email me. I wish you well on your journey of self-discovery.
